Mrs Philomena Bukie Abang Odu was born on 22nd December, 1956 at Kakwagom Village, in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria.
INSTITUTIONS ATTENDED AND CERTIFICATES OBTAINED
Mrs Odu studied at the following Institutions of Learning:
1. Started her Primary Education at St. Patrick's RCM School, Kakwagom and obtained her First School Leaving Certificate in 1969.
2. Attended Holy Child Teachers' Training College, Ifugho, Ikot Ekpene, now in Akwa Ibom State and obtained her Teachers' Grade 2 Certificate in 1978.
3. At the Federal College of Education, Kongo, Zaria, she obtained her Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) in 1991.
4. At Samaru, Zaria, Mrs Philomena Odu attended the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) and bagged a degree on Bachelor in Education (Second Class Honours - Upper Division) in 1995.
5. At the University of Lagos, Akoka, Mrs Philo. Odu obtained her Master's Degree in Educational Psychology in 2002.
6. She also attended Siena School of Theology at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Yaba - Lagos where she got a Diploma in Catholic Theology in 1998.
CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS:
As an Educationist, Mrs Odu served her nation in nine States (as she followed her husband who was a military officer), under the Federal Ministry of Education as an Academic Staff in the Federal Government Colleges.
She rose from the ranks in the Federal Ministry of Education up to Assistant Director of Education.
She retired meritoriously after reaching the mandatory 35 years in the Civil Service, in 2013.

1. "BEST ACADEMIC STUDENT AWARD", Department of Humanity, Ahmadu Hello University, Zaria (1995).
2. "BEST TEACHER AWARD", Federal Government College, Ogbomoso - 2011.
3. "ACTIVE AND WORTHY MOTHER AWARD" by the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) of Ogoja Diocese, (my home diocese) in 2022.
PUBLICATIONS: Mrs Philomena Odu has author 5 published books on Morality, Education, Marriage, Spirituality, including Evangelical Tracts and Daily Devotionals.

COMMITMENTS IN THE CHURCH
Mrs Odu is Committed and Practicing Catholic who has served the Church in various capacities.
1. At her home Parish, she's well known for her activeness, support to CWO in various areas, including spiritual and educational TALKS, a reason why she was presented for Ogoja Diocesan Women Award.
2. She has served as a member of Church Council and Harvest Committee Member in different Parishes as she moved from one State to another, specifically at St Theresa, Bonny Camp Barracks and Church of Assumption, Awoyaya, Lagos.
3. As a Couple, they have sponsored 13 marriages and God-parents to many babies.
4. Mrs Philomena Odu has served the church voluntary as a Marriage Class Instructor, Facilitator and Counselor for 12 years and still in the job to date.
5.She's one of the Senior Leaders in Catholic Charismatic Renewal and current Treasurer of Epe Deanery Healing Ministry. Popularly called "Mama Charismatic, she's a member of the Lagos Archdiocesan Healing and Deliverance Ministry.
6. In the Catholic Women Organization (CWO), Awoyaya, Mrs Odu is among the current Executive as the Faith Formator of Catholic Church of Assumption.
7. She's also an active member of the Divine Mercy Apostolate in her Parish.
CONCLUSION: Mrs Philomena Abang Odu is a passionate lover of God's Word, Evangelism and a Devoured Teacher of God's Word.
She is currently the Chief Executive of Philadu Counseling Services.
MARITAL STATUS: Mrs Odu is married to Retired Col. Raphael Abang Odu and the marriage is blessed with four children - Raphael Abang Odu (jnr), Mrs Anna Linda Inigbenije, Major Emmanuel Eyare Odu and Master Anthony Nkre-mu- Osowo Odu.
